Metropolitan School District Lawrence Township

Parent Resources

Please remember to call the absence hotline at 964-4705 each day that your student is absent. Homework requests must also be made through the office.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Visitation of Classes

After the first two weeks of school, we welcome your visit to your child's classroom. Pre-arranged classroom visits by parents are encouraged and welcomed.

All visitors should sign in at the office and wear a guest or volunteer badge.

For your child's safety and education, we cannot allow parents to just walk into the classroom unexpectedly. Thank you for your support in providing a safe environment for our children.

Lunch Visits

Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their child! Please sign in at the office, wear a guest badge and wait for your child at the cafeteria entrance. You may bring in a lunch or buy a school lunch. Once you have met your child, you are welcome to eat in the Polygon Room or in the Courtyard!

Sign up for the Skiles Test listserve to receive information and our newsletter via email.  Also, look for the PFO Bulletin Board with important information located in the Polygon Room.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you have an hour to spare, then Skiles Test could use your help! Please complete a limited criminal background history form (in the front office) prior to volunteering. There are many volunteer opportunities such as:
  • Classroom volunteer - either working with students or helping the teacher with clerical work.
  • Help in the library - shelve and organize books and resources.
  • PFO events - we always can use help (about an hour) with our Family Fun Nights or other scheduled events.
